Red Horse Foundation supports young people and adults struggling with trauma and mental health issues through Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Learning in Gloucestershire. Our goal is to help children, adults and families to process and work through their trauma and grief, to develop new ways of thinking and to overcome their obstacles and move forwards in their lives. This highly specialised form of therapy involves working in collaboration with a horse and one of our highly trained therapists. Sessions provide a unique and powerful combination of psychotherapy, ground-based exercises and mindfulness. We primarily support people who are struggling with trauma, grief and loss, in particular: - Children and adults with mental health problems - Children and young people with SEN and disabilities, including autism, ADHD and behavioural problems - Victims of domestic violence, neglect or sexual abuse - People struggling with family breakdown, stress and bereavement - People battling an addiction or eating disorder - Veterans experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury
