Hi John, we have a number of outdoor places with wheelchair access listed on You're Welcome, such as the Tetbury Trail, Pittville Park and Robinswood Hill (although to actually go up the hill from the car park may not be an option with a manual wheelchair). If you go to 'Things to do' and scroll down below the different categories of interest, there's a search bar where you can search by location, interests and specific requirements (such as access for wheelchair users). You might be interested in the 'Gardens and Nature' category or 'Parks and Green Spaces'.
Depending on your daughter's interests, in Gloucester there's also The Hub, Gloucester (for making music), The Museum of Gloucester and The Cavern (a coffee shop run by Kingfisher Treasure Seekers), among other venues and activities.
Do check out the websites for anywhere you might find on You're Welcome for further information. Contact details can be found on an organisation's You're Welcome profile, which you can find on the right hand side of any of their listings.

Hi John. Great to hear from you and welcome to You're Welcome! Good on you for keeping things going at this strange time. What would we do without Zoom? We'd love you to add CFS to You're Welcome; you can do this by signing them up as an organisation. You can then list them in the Things to Do section and each event you run on the Events pages. We're on hand to help with any questions you might have.
Hi Alex. It's great to have you onboard and thanks for starting this post. There are many people who are in a similar position as you in terms of looking for new ways to get out and have fun with the family. Have a look at our Events and Things to Do pages and see if anything takes your fancy. There's an online quiz tomorrow afternoon, a creative writing workshop on Wednesday evening and some laughter yoga coming up.
Hello Alex the inclusive cycling project at Blackbridge Athletics Track has restarted if you would like to bring the boys over? Sunday afternoons 1pm to 4pm. Tuesdays & Thursdays 11.30am to 4.30pm. You need to let me know when you would like to visit and I can send you the booking information which can be completed when you arrive. The cost is the same - £5 per week per participant; family / carers are free. Best wishes Mary Clare 07393 867572
I love cycling along the Family Cycle Trail in the Forest of Dean. Prior to the Lockdown in March 2020 Leonard Cheshire's Gloucestershire Wheels For All project had just started delivering inclusive cycling sessions from the Forestry England Mallards Pike site near Parkend in the Forest of Dean. There is a 2km circular accessible route suitable for adapted bikes, that starts and finishes close to the car park, toilets (just reopened) and cafe (currently serving takeaways only). We are looking forward to restarting our sessions (keep an eye on the You're Welcome website to find out when) but in the meantime if you have your own bikes and a means of transport, I thoroughly recommend the beautiful, blissful and life-enhancing forest environment. That 2km route links with the main 11km Family Cycle Trail which has several flat stretches and is mostly manageable on a recumbent trike - but does have some uphill stretches where you might need a bit of help from a companion unless you are super fit and have lots of gears! If you would like more information please contact Project Lead MaryClare via the You're Welcome directory.
I love the Family Cycle Trail! I had a memorable ride around the whole of it last year, when we weren't planning on going that far! It was lovely though. I've also done the 5k route from Mallard's Pike on my hand bike with my brother - really enjoyed it but it was hard work on some of the uphill bits and I needed a push from my brother!
Definitely! There is so much good stuff on there now including loads of new Star Wars series about the Clone Wars and The Mandalorian. I can't keep up but my teenager daughter says they new series are all brilliant.
Decided to watch the prequel series this weekend, and have just watched episode 1! A good way to spend a weekend afternoon! I won't have Disney for long so I'm hoping to do the whole saga in the next few weeks...
InCommon, which brings generations together, is sharing some games and activities around a different theme that families can try with older friends and relatives over the phone or video call. All the activities so far are available here. https://www.incommonliving.com/buddies-activities
Hi Philip. Thanks for letting us know about this. Do you think you could let Gloucestershire Cancer Exercise know about our new site? It would be great if they signed up as an organisation to promote what they're doing. Let us know how it goes.
These are both physical activity online sessions that are suitable for children with physical and cognitive impairments and their friends and siblings too: www.flamingochicks.org/athome
