Are you a Family Carer of a child or loved one?
Gloucestershire Parent Carer Forum and the Carer's Hub are working together to raise awareness of the role unpaid Family Carers play in supporting disabled family members.
If you are a Parent Carer of a child in Gloucestershire with any condition, impairment, SEN or additional need you can join the Parent Carer Forum and meet other families, share ideas and support, receive free training and well being opportunities and have your voice heard about the services your family uses. Registering with the forum is quick and easy and if you do it before half term you'll be entered into a prize draw to win a £50 food voucher from your choice of restaurant or retailer. JOIN HERE
You can also register as a Carer with the Carers Hub, this applies to all Family Carers of people from birth to end of life. Many people take on caring responsibilities as their loved ones grow older, and some have their role throughout their loved one's lifetime if they are disabled.
The Carers Hub can offer support, training, access to services such as Carer's breaks (subject to assessment) and the Emergency Carers Scheme which can put temporary care in place should you be unable to fulfill your caring responsibilities. They have also recently launched the Carer Aware Scheme that supports Carers to access vital services more easily to ensure they can fulfill their caring responsibilities more easily including shopping delivery/access during priority times, GP appointments etc. To find out more and register as a Carer: JOIN HERE
Both organisations offer a friendly supportive community for Carers to enjoy social opportunities with others who understand the responsibilities shared by unpaid carers.
