Explore, create and connect in our family session this Christmas!

We welcome whole families join us during the holiday family sessions! There is no upper age limit with children but it is most suitable for 18m to 12 years; all children must be accompanied by an adult; adult participation is strongly encouraged.

During the session we will enter into the spirit of Christmas, playing games around the fire and getting creative with the resources the woods have to offer. There will be scavenger hunt, wreath making and reindeer crafting in the tool area as well as cooking and sharing soup from the campfire, hot apple juice and a simple seasonal campfire treat.

There will also be space for the family to explore together. Our ‘playground’ is a whole forestry block on the beautiful Bathurst Estate, where we can immerse ourselves in nature. We help you along the way with free play at the various ‘play stations’ dotted around the site. Families can also just using what the woodland has to offer – you can make dens, balance on the slackline or ‘cook up’ Christmas feast in the mud kitchen.

ACCESSIBILITY  There are rugged woodland paths. The site is only a few minutes walk from the car park. It is possible to take a buggy for younger siblings, or use a sling.  We are just off the main road and there is easy parking and a toilet.  Unfortunately, public transport is not an option for this group.If you have any questions about accessibility please get in touch so that we can have a chat.

SLIDING PAYMENT SCALE   We have introduced two payment options for our Holiday Family Sessions: Regular price session and discounted price session – for those on a low household income and/or in receipt of benefits (we do not ask for proof but rely on people’s honesty) If the discounted option is still too much, please get in touch so we can arrange a ‘pay what you can’ option.
